Sections Manager

Profile Management is a floating window that allows you to easily manage your profile views and create scenes, section groups, or all of them for your profile perspective.

1. Activate command
After creating a profile, activate the 'Profile Management' command and a management tool window will appear. This is a standard floating window (webdialog) that you can move, minimize, maximize, close, and resize.


2. Tools
Current: The name and symbol of the currently activated profile. Select a profile from the list to activate it. If you want not to activate all the profile views, select '; None;.

Icon:
① Flip section - Flip the direction of the section.
② Create Section - Same as SketchUp's native feature.
③ Display section - same as SketchUp native feature.
④ Display section cutting - same as SketchUp's native feature.
⑤ Display section filling - same as SketchUp's native feature.
⑥ Align View - Click to display the current section view.
⑦ Perspective/Parallel View - Click to switch between perspective/parallel views.
⑧ Create section group - Group the faces or edges of the selected section location separately.
⑨ Display Help - Click to display model information and help documents.

3. Create a sectional view
Select the profile of interest from the drop-down list. Click on icon ⑧ to create a profile group. If there are no active profiles, this prompt will pop up and the command will be canceled.


If there is currently an active profile, a dialog box will be displayed:


Type:
Surface: Create a group with edges and faces where there may be faces on the cut surface. You may need to do some cleaning work to eliminate unwanted surfaces.
Linetype: Like SketchUp, create a group with only edges (lines) at the intersection of a section and a model.

Scenario:
Yes: A new scene will be created and named with a section label.
No: Do not create any scenes (pages) in the model.

Layer:
Select a layer on which you want to place the section group. It should be noted that we will name a layer as'; Section from section_plane_label" , where section_plane_label is the name of the activated section.
All entities in the section group are created on the default layer (Layer0), while the section group itself is placed on the layer you choose. If this layer does not exist in the model, it will be created and will not be visible in the new scene.

Material:
Select a material from the list to apply to the profile group. This material is applied globally to the group, not just to this entity.

Style:
Choose from three options.
Use current: will set the current style as the new scene.
Default value for profile management: The default style for this plugin will be set. Please feel free to modify this style to meet your needs.
Section Management X...: The selected style will be loaded into the model and set for the scene. Please feel free to modify this style to suit your needs.
Create scene: Set default style; Sections Manager Default" And rename it with the name of the scene. Therefore, each scene can have its own style. Please feel free to modify this new style to meet your needs.

Shadow:
Choose from three options.
No Shadows: Set the shadows of the scene to display without shadows.
Shadows start from the left 45 °: Set the shadow settings for the scene, with shadows coming from the top left corner of the viewport.
Shadows start from 45 ° on the right: Set the shadow settings for the scene, with shadows coming from the top right corner of the viewport.
Note: Shadow options may sometimes produce strange results, especially when the section is not parallel to the XYZ axis.
